<pre>В пакет plasma5-config-fresh недавно был добавлен такой файл:
$ cat /etc/xdg/powermanagementprofilesrc
[AC][BrightnessControl]

Когда есть такой файл, не работает смена настроек пользователем.
Заходим в Параметры системы (systemsettings5) -> Энергосбережение.
Снимаем галку "Энергосбережение", применяем, переходим в другой раздел
настроек, переходим обратно, а галка снова стоит.
Это потому что кдешники сделали так, что когда галка снята, строки из
~/.config/powermanagementprofilesrc просто удаляются.
Если бы они не удалялись, а записывались с путями значениями, то они были бы
приоритетнее /etc/xdg/*.
Это нужно решать с апстримом KDE, временное решение - перенести файл в
/etc/skel.</pre>
